End plugs are commonly used to terminate the far end of an irrigation zone or branch line, to temporarily seal a pipeline section during pressure testing, or to close off a stub-out left for possible future expansion. They are a standard accessory in agricultural, greenhouse, and rural water supply piping, wherever a PE line needs a controlled, sealed termination point.
Installation involves cutting the pipe end square, inserting it fully into the plug, and tightening the compression nut in the same way as other fittings in this range. Because the connection can be disassembled, this plug is generally a more flexible choice than a fused end cap in situations where the line may need to be reopened at a later date.
