PE compression elbows are used wherever a PE pipeline needs to change direction — around field boundaries in irrigation systems, at corners in rural water supply networks, or at transition points where a pipe run needs to go from a trench into a riser or standpipe. They are also used in general construction and landscaping piping where quick, tool-light assembly is valued.
As with other compression fittings, proper installation involves squarely cutting the pipe ends and fully inserting them into the fitting before tightening the compression nuts. Because irrigation and rural water lines are often installed in trenches or exposed field conditions, the tool-free nature of this fitting is generally an advantage for maintenance, since a damaged elbow can typically be replaced without needing fusion equipment on site.
