PE Compression Reducing Coupling

PE Compression Reducing Coupling joins two PE pipes of different outer diameters using the same tool-free compression method as the rest of the range, but with two differently sized ports instead of matching ones. This allows a pipeline to step down in diameter — for example, from a larger main line to a smaller branch line — without needing to switch to a fused or threaded transition fitting.
Because each side of the fitting is sized for its specific pipe diameter, the compression nuts, grab rings, and seals on either side are matched to their respective pipe size, allowing a secure, tool-free joint to be formed at each end despite the difference in diameter.

Application Scenarios & Installation

This fitting is used wherever a PE pipeline needs to transition to a smaller diameter — for instance, stepping down from a larger main line to a smaller distribution or drip line in an irrigation system, or reducing pipe size as a rural water network moves further from the main source. It allows the overall system to be sized appropriately at each stage rather than running one large diameter throughout.
Installation follows the same general compression-fitting process on each side, with attention paid to matching each pipe end to the correctly sized port on the fitting. Because reducing fittings sit at a size transition point, ensuring both pipe ends are cut cleanly and fully inserted is particularly important for a reliable seal.
