This fitting is used to join female-threaded pipe sections or to connect two female-threaded components — for example, certain valve bodies or instrument ports — in chemical dosing systems, laboratory piping, or industrial process lines built from PPH. It performs the same general role as the female threaded coupling, applied wherever the male thread orientation is the one required.
Installation follows the same general approach as other threaded PPH fittings: an appropriate, chemically compatible thread sealant should be used, and the joint should be tightened enough to seal properly without over-stressing the plastic threads. Because these fittings are often used in systems handling aggressive chemicals, periodic inspection of threaded connections is generally advisable.
