PPR Brass Insert Female Threaded Socket

PPR Brass Insert Female Threaded Socket is a transition fitting that combines a standard PPR fusion socket on one side with a brass female thread on the other. It is one of the most commonly used connectors for linking a PPR pipe run directly to a male-threaded component — a tap, a valve, a water meter, or a flexible hose connector — without needing a separate metal adapter.
The brass insert is molded into the fitting body during manufacturing rather than added afterward, so the thread sits securely within the plastic rather than relying on a press-fit or glued-in metal ring. On the PPR side, the fitting is joined to the pipe using standard heat-fusion welding, forming the same type of seamless joint used throughout a PPR piping system. This design lets installers move from an all-plastic pipe run to a threaded connection point without introducing a second type of joint (such as a compression fitting or additional adapter) into the line.

Application Scenarios & Installation

This fitting is typically used at the final connection point of a plumbing run, where the pipe needs to meet a fixture or appliance that has a standard male-threaded inlet. Common examples include connecting a PPR branch line to an angle valve, a washing machine tap, or a pressure gauge. In residential bathrooms and kitchens, it is often the last fitting before a flexible hose or shut-off valve, while in commercial buildings it is used at similar transition points throughout a distribution network.
Installers generally fuse the PPR side of the fitting to the pipe first, then connect the threaded side to the fixture using PTFE tape or an appropriate thread sealant, taking care not to over-tighten the connection, since excessive torque on the threaded side can stress the brass insert within the plastic body.
