PPR Brass Insert Male Threaded Socket

PPR Brass Insert Male Threaded Socket serves the opposite role of its female-threaded counterpart: it has a brass male thread on one side and a standard PPR fusion socket on the other, allowing a PPR pipe run to connect into a female-threaded fitting, meter, or piece of equipment. This is a common requirement wherever the downstream component — rather than the pipe fitting — carries the female thread.
As with the female-threaded version, the brass thread is embedded into the fitting body during production, giving it more resistance to pull-out than a separately attached metal adapter would have. The PPR side of the fitting is heat-fused to the pipe in the usual way, keeping the transition point consistent with the rest of the piping system. Because male and female threaded inserts are both common in plumbing hardware, having both versions available allows installers to match whichever thread orientation the connecting fixture requires, without needing to add an extra adapter fitting in the line.

Application Scenarios & Installation

This fitting is commonly used to connect a PPR line into components that have a female-threaded inlet, such as certain water meters, in-line filters, pressure reducing valves, and some brands of mixer taps. It also appears where a PPR branch line needs to screw directly into a female-threaded port on a manifold or distribution header.
During installation, the PPR socket is fused to the pipe first, and the male thread is then screwed into the mating female-threaded component with an appropriate sealant. Because the connection point is often at equipment that may need periodic servicing (meters, filters), installers should avoid over-tightening the threaded joint and should support the fitting rather than relying on the thread alone to bear mechanical load during installation.
