PPR Brass Female Threaded Union

PPR Brass Female Threaded Union combines two functions already described separately: the disconnectable union joint and the brass threaded transition point. One side of the fitting fuses to the PPR pipe, the middle section forms a standard union joint that can be loosened and reconnected, and the far side presents a brass female thread for connecting to a male-threaded fixture or piece of equipment.
This combination is useful where a threaded connection point also needs to be removable — for example, ahead of a piece of equipment with a male-threaded inlet that may need to be taken out for servicing. Rather than choosing between a plain threaded fitting (which is fused in place) and a plain union (which has no thread), this fitting provides both properties at once.

Application Scenarios & Installation

This fitting is typically used just ahead of equipment such as pumps, water heaters, or filtration units that have a male-threaded inlet and may need to be removed periodically for servicing or replacement. It allows the installer to disconnect the equipment at the union joint without disturbing the threaded connection itself, and without needing to cut into the surrounding pipe.
During installation, the PPR side is fused to the pipe, the threaded side is connected to the equipment with appropriate sealant, and the union collar is tightened to complete the joint. Because this fitting includes both a threaded connection and a union seal, it is generally reserved for points in the system where both properties are genuinely needed, rather than used in place of a simpler fitting where only one function is required.
