PPR Brass Male Threaded Union

PPR Brass Male Threaded Union mirrors the female-threaded version, but with a brass male thread on the outer connection instead of a female one. As with the other union fittings in this range, it is built from a fused PPR socket on one side, a union joint in the middle, and a threaded connection — in this case male — on the far side.
This fitting is chosen wherever the downstream equipment or fixture has a female-threaded inlet and also benefits from being removable without cutting into the pipe. As with the female-threaded union, having both the male and female threaded union options available lets installers match the correct thread orientation for whatever equipment they are connecting to, without adding a separate adapter.

Application Scenarios & Installation

This fitting is used just ahead of equipment with a female-threaded inlet — some types of valves, meters, or filtration housings — where the connection may need to be disconnected for servicing or replacement over time. It provides the same practical benefit as the female-threaded union: the union collar can be loosened to disconnect the equipment without needing to cut the surrounding pipework.
Installation follows the same general process as the female-threaded union: the PPR socket is fused to the pipe, the male thread is connected to the equipment's female inlet with an appropriate sealant, and the union collar is tightened to complete the assembly. As with other union-equipped fittings, the seal within the union should be checked periodically if the joint is disconnected and reconnected repeatedly over the life of the installation.
