PPR Brass Stop Valve

PPR Brass Stop Valve is another type of shut-off fitting built into the PPR piping system, using a globe-type or similar stop valve mechanism with a brass core, rather than the ball valve mechanism used in the PPR brass core ball valve fitting described earlier. Both ends of the fitting are fused to the pipe using standard PPR sockets, with the valve mechanism and operating handle housed in the fitting body between them.
Stop valves of this type generally close by turning a handle through multiple rotations, gradually restricting flow, which can make them well suited to situations where a more gradual shut-off (rather than the quick quarter-turn action of a ball valve) is preferred. As with other fused-in valves, the connection points on either side match the rest of the PPR system, so no separate threaded adapters are needed to install it into a pipe run.

Application Scenarios & Installation

PPR brass stop valves are used at similar locations to the ball valve fitting — isolating a branch, fixture group, or section of a building's plumbing — but may be selected specifically where a more controlled, gradual shut-off is preferred over a quick quarter-turn valve. They are commonly found ahead of individual fixtures, at the base of risers, or at points where flow needs to be throttled rather than simply turned fully on or off.
Because the valve is fused into the pipe on both sides, it is typically installed during construction rather than retrofitted into an existing line without cutting it. As with any fused-in valve, installers generally position it somewhere reasonably accessible, since a shut-off valve that is difficult to reach loses much of its practical value during an emergency or routine maintenance.
