PPR Double-Socket Straight Connector

PPR Double-Socket Straight Connector serves a similar function to the standard equal socket coupling, joining two lengths of PPR pipe of the same diameter into a continuous straight run — but is generally used in the context of inserting a new section into an existing line, such as during a repair or a modification to an already-installed system.
Because both ends of the fitting are plain fusion sockets, it can be positioned over a cut section of pipe and fused on both sides to bridge the gap, effectively splicing a new piece of pipe or a replacement section into a line that is already in place. This is a common repair scenario: a damaged section of pipe is cut out, and the double-socket connector (together with a new length of pipe, if needed) is used to rejoin the line.

Application Scenarios & Installation

This fitting is used primarily in repair and retrofit situations — replacing a section of pipe that has been damaged, inserting a new branch takeoff into an existing line, or extending a pipe run that was originally left short. Because the same fitting can also be used as a standard coupling during new installation, it is a versatile, frequently stocked part for both original construction and later maintenance work.
When used for a repair, installers typically cut out the damaged section of pipe, dry-fit the new connector and any replacement pipe length to check the alignment, and then fuse each joint in sequence. Because working space around an existing installation is often more limited than during new construction, having a fitting specifically suited to this kind of splice-in repair can make the job considerably easier than trying to adapt a fitting designed only for new, straight-run installation.
