PPR End Cap Pipe Fitting

PPR End Cap Pipe Fitting is one of the simplest fittings in a PPR product line, but it plays a specific and necessary role: it seals off the open end of a pipe run completely, with no further connection point beyond it. Unlike a plug, which threads into a fitting, the end cap fuses directly onto the end of a pipe or another fitting's socket, forming a solid, permanent closure.
This fitting is molded from the same PPR resin as the rest of the fitting range and is fused into place using the same heat-fusion process, so the closure becomes a continuous part of the pipe wall rather than a removable component. Because there is no thread or mechanical seal involved, an end cap is generally intended as a more permanent termination point than a threaded plug, which can be unscrewed if the line needs to be reopened later.

Application Scenarios & Installation

End caps are commonly used to seal a pipe run temporarily during pressure testing before the rest of a plumbing installation is completed, allowing the system to be checked for leaks section by section. They are also used to terminate a branch line that has been left for possible future expansion — for example, a stub-out for a future fixture that is not being installed yet — where the installer wants a fully sealed, pressure-rated closure rather than leaving the pipe open.
In some cases, end caps are also used at the permanent termination of a line that will never need to be reopened, such as the far end of a dead-leg branch. Because reopening a capped line generally requires cutting the pipe and installing a new fitting, end caps are best suited to points where a genuinely permanent (or long-term) closure is intended, rather than a connection point that may need to be serviced or extended later.
