PPR 90° Elbow Pipe Fitting

PPR 90° elbow pipe fitting is a single-piece component with two socket ends set at a 90-degree angle; it lets installers redirect a pipe run vertically or horizontally — around a wall corner, up through a floor slab, or into a fixture connection point — while keeping the joint fully fused.
A well-made PPR elbow generally has a smooth internal transition through the bend rather than a sharp mechanical corner, which can help reduce turbulence and local pressure loss at the fitting — a detail worth considering in systems carrying pressurized hot water, since turbulence at fittings can contribute to noise and wear over time. Like other fittings in the PPR range, the elbow is typically produced from PP-R80/PP-R100 resin and fused to the pipe using the same heat-fusion process as a straight coupling, forming a joint without threads or rubber seals.
Because the fitting is symmetrical, it can be rotated during installation to match the routing angle required on site. This makes it a common choice not only for standard water supply lines but also for heating circuits, where the fitting needs to tolerate repeated thermal expansion and contraction over time.
This elbow is typically offered across a range of diameters and pressure classes; installers and distributors should confirm the specific size range, pressure rating, and applicable standards against the current specification sheet for the batch being supplied.

Application Scenarios & Installation

The 90° elbow is used wherever a pipe run must change direction by a right angle — the most common turning requirement in any building's plumbing layout. Typical applications include routing a water supply line up from the floor into a wall cavity, turning a horizontal ceiling-mounted line down into a bathroom or kitchen riser, and connecting distribution pipes around structural columns or beams. In residential construction, installers use dozens of these fittings per unit to bring water from a central manifold to each individual fixture — sinks, showers, toilets and washing machines — with corner turns that follow the building's layout.
In commercial and hospitality buildings, the fitting is also used for building out multi-story vertical risers that branch off at each floor, and it is a common component in HVAC hydronic piping, where chilled or hot water loops navigate mechanical rooms with equipment, ductwork and structural obstacles. Because the elbow is heat-fused rather than threaded, it is also used in industrial and agricultural settings where PPR piping is often chosen over metal for its resistance to corrosion in humid or chemically exposed environments. For plumbing wholesalers and contractors, stocking this fitting across a range of sizes generally covers most directional-change needs encountered on a job site.
